Time at Durham
Rachel Repko (Rimmer) graduated in 1988 from St. Mary’s College, with a BA. Hons in Russian. She was a member of the Durham University Women’s Boat Club and spent a year studying in Moscow and Paris. Loving her years at Durham, Rachel credits her time there as foundational in building the life-long friendships and skills that have helped her navigate life as a mother, entrepreneur, and expat living in Los Angeles, California.
After graduating from Durham, Rachel began her career in London working for public relations agency, The Rowland Company. She then moved to California with her husband, where she began working in the field of non-profit development and fundraising for international relief and development organization, World Vision. Rachel went on to gain close to 20 years’ experience working for numerous non-profit organizations, helping to raise money as a successful independent grant writer and consultant. She is now President of Repko Grants. Her clients include some of Los Angeles’ leading non-profit organizations. Passionate about using her education and skills to make a difference in the world, Rachel’s work focuses on addressing issues such as hunger and poverty, homelessness, education, and human trafficking.
